Jaguar was founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company by Sir William Lyons in 1922. On April 9th 1945, the company named changed to Jaguar Cars Limited. Ford Motor Company purchased Jaguar in 1998, however, they sold it 20 years later. Tata Motors purchased Jaguar in 2008 and is the current owner.
